International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on May 12th to honor the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. It is a day dedicated to recognizing the vital role nurses play in healthcare, acknowledging their hard work, compassion, and commitment to patient care around the world.
SPM Nursing College celebrated International Nurses Day 2025 with great enthusiasm. Open Mic event “Why I Am a Nurse.” Hands-on competitions like the Bandage Wrap Challenge, clinical knowledge, and teamwork.
The celebration began with the formal inauguration lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Vandana Sharma, Director of SPM Nursing College, Mrs. Sonam Gupta, Principal of SPM Nursing College, Mrs. Andri, Head of Administrative Staff, and Mr. Mohit Brown, OT Incharge of SPM Hospital Research and Trauma Centre.
Following the lamp lighting ceremony, the program commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, invoking divine blessings for the success of the event. Mrs.Sonam Gupta Principal of SPM Nursing College delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting all dignitaries, faculty, and students, and setting the tone for the celebration.
This was followed by an insightful address by Mrs.Sonam Gupta Principal, SPM Nursing College who elaborated on the importance of International Nurses Day and highlighted the official theme for 2025, encouraging students to embody the values of compassion, leadership, and excellence in their professional journey.
The celebration was further uplifted by a series of vibrant cultural performances, including traditional and contemporary dance routines, group songs, skits, and a special tribute performance honoring nurses. These programs added color and joy to the event, reflecting the unity, creativity, and spirit of the nursing student community.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizing teams for their contribution and active participation in making the event a grand success, and also the distribution of refreshments, leaving everyone with renewed pride in the nursing profession.
The program ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, uniting everyone in a moment of national pride and professional honor.
